We are a Welcoming and Inclusive Congregation: Affirming LGBTQ/TGQNB Individuals and Families

Church History

In 2004 and 2005, a group of committed members formed the church’s Welcoming Congregation Committee.  Members included Judy & Bill Hepfer, Betty & Bob Murphy, Paul Davis & Mickey Selwyn.  After 18 months of work to meet the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) requirements, the congregation voted at its May 22, 2005 Annual Meeting to become a Welcoming Congregation and became certified by the UUA in 2005.

Annual Welcoming Congregation Renewal Process

In 2019 the UUA implemented an annual Welcoming Congregation renewal process.  Read about the Five Practices of Welcome Renewal Program here: https://www.uua.org/lgbtq/welcoming/program/five-practices-welcome-renewal

The annual renewal process for our church is a joint project of/completed by the Worship Team, the Social Justice Council and the 8th Principle Task Force.
