Childcare Provider

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Childcare Provider to join our team. The hours are on Sundays from 9:30 am to 11:30 am with possible additional hours after this time on Sundays and during the week for special events if the candidate is available. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong understanding of childhood development. This role involves creating a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children, ensuring their well-being while engaging them in age-appropriate activities. The Childcare Provider will work with infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children, fostering their growth and development through play and structured learning.

Duties

  • Supervise and ensure the safety of children in the care setting.
  • Plan and implement engaging activities that promote learning and development.
  • Provide age-appropriate care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
  • Assist with daily routines including feeding, educate children on basic social skills, hygiene practices, and emotional regulation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding children’s progress and any concerns.
  • Collaborate with other childcare staff to create a cohesive team environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in childcare settings such as daycare or preschool is preferred.
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles is essential.
  • Strong caregiving skills with an emphasis on infant care and toddler care.
  • Ability to create educational activities that are fun and engaging for children.
  • Openness to Unitarian Universalist values and religion.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with both children and parents effectively.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid is a plus.
  • A genuine love for working with children and a commitment to their well-being.
