Bio for Rev. Alpha Goto

Alpha recently retired after 13+ years as pastor of Wai`oli Hui`ia Church (a historically Hawaiian church)) in Hanalei, Kaua`i, where he served on denominationl and ecumenical organizations and as a chaplain for the Police Department. Alpha grew up mainly in California, graduating from the University California at Santa Cruz with a degree in Art. He received his M.Div degree in the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California and was ordained in the United Methodist Church, serving churches in Northern California before coming to Hawai`i.

His wife, Pamela Odo, grew up in Makiki and is a McKinley grad. They currently live in Honolulu. Their daughter, Lani, is married and lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. So far in retirement, Alpha has been enjoying travel, beach BBQs, watching movies. Trying to get back into surfing after two hip replacements is a new goal in life.
