Marie Anne pointed out on Sunday that the Hospitality refrigerator’s freezer door had been frozen shut since May. Juliet Begley and Marie started defrosting the refrigerator with lots of towels packed around its edges. Thanks to Jaron who had to mop up the excess water on Monday! Any food in that refrigerator was moved into the refrigerator in the front kitchen. Honolulu Appliance Service came on Tuesday and determined that the door seal had failed. The repair person will make a return visit to install a new seal. In the meantime, we have been advised to keep the refrigerator unplugged until the
repair is made.

The same repair person also studied the Miele dishwasher, which stopped working about a year ago. He was able to get it started by pushing the START button very hard, but it did not complete its cycle. The repair person confirmed that this dishwasher is a very good and expensive model and should therefore be repaired. He will continue to investigate the issue when he returns to do the seal repair.
