Independence Day?

One of the longest traditions in the United States is profiting off of the work of people of color. While the institution of slavery in the United States may be outlawed, people of color are still unfairly exploited by legal methods of capitalism in many ways, but some of those ways are more apparent than others. Musician and recording artist Tim Rose will invite us to wade in the murky waters of cultural appropriation versus appreciation in music by sharing tales of caution for those seeking to profit off of the art and experiences of African Americans.
