Postcard Writers Needed to Oppose Honolulu Police Commission Nominee

04/13/2021/by Carla Allison

The Social Justice Counsel and the 8th Principle Task Force are calling all postcard writers to let the Honolulu City Council know that the Mayor’s nominee to the Honolulu Police Commission is not a suitable candidate for the position.

The nominee, Benjamin Mahi, is a former HPD Commander and longtime partner of a current HPD lieutenant.  For Mr. Mahi to serve on the Police Commission that regularly reviews complaints against police officers creates a serious conflict of interest and distrust within the community.

How many postcards?  9

What’s provided?  Postcards, sample message and name/address list.

How do I get the materials?   Deliveries can be arranged to Kailua/Kaneohe and Hawaii Kai.  Materials are also available for pick up at the church on Sunday, April 18 from 3:00pm – 5:00pm.

What’s the mail date for the postcards?  On or before April 23rd

To participate and schedule delivery: Contact Carla Allison @ cbm@hawaii.rr.com or 396-1488.
