Help Us Reach Our Pledge Goal!

The Magic of Generosity got us this far, but we’re not quite there yet…
Help us reach our pledge goal!

We kicked off our annual pledge drive last month with a truly magical evening and quickly reached 75% of our pledge goal. Everything that happens in this congregation — worship, music, learning, social justice work, pastoral care, and community gatherings — is made possible through the generosity of our members and friends. Mahalo to all who have pledged, and those who have already increased their pledges. Our pledge goal this year is $111,111 — a 13% increase over last year. To support the vibrant growth of our church and strengthen our voice in the wider community, we have made several important staffing investments. We increased Rev. Deborah’s compensation to better reflect the time, care, and leadership she provides, and we expanded Noe’s role and hours as Director of Music. Along with rising operational costs, these changes require more from each of us.

If you have already pledged, we ask you to consider increasing your support. If you have not yet pledged, we are currently reaching out to ask for your financial support. In these difficult times not everyone is able to share as much as they might wish, so we ask those of us who are able to give a little more. When each of us gives what we can, together we create something greater than any one of us – a voice of compassion, justice, and joy.

The First Unitarian Church of Honolulu depends on your generosity. To increase your pledge, simply email or text Catherine Graham at catgraham48@gmail.com or 808-741-4317, or email me directly at syamanecarpenter@gmail.com.

Please help us sustain and grow a critical voice for religious freedom!

Mahalo,
Sue Yamane-Carpenter, President
