Did you know we have a Book Group?
The UU-HNL “Page Turners” meet on Zoom the 2nd Wednesdays of each month from 4:00 – 5:30 pm. We read a wide selection of both fiction and non-fiction with the requirement that the book either be available in the library or very inexpensive used. To join our zoom discussion email James Skouge.
Selections for coming months:
AUGUST 12, 2026 2nd Wed of month)
“The Correspondent,” by Virginia Evans
A small, charming, story about the transformative power of the written word and the beauty of slowing down to reconnect with the people we love. Filled with knowledge that only comes from a life fully lived, The Correspondent is a gem of a novel about the power of finding solace in literature and connection with people we might never meet in person. “Quietly dazzling” – NYT, “A cause for celebration” – Ann Patchett
SEPTEMBER 9, 2026 2nd Wed of month)
“The Body: A Guide for Occupants,” by Bill Bryson
Bill guides us through the human body — how it functions, its remarkable ability to heal itself, and (unfortunately) the ways it can fail. Full of extraordinary facts (your body made a million red blood cells since you started reading this) and irresistible Bryson-esque anecdotes, The Body will lead you to a deeper understanding of the miracle that is life in general and you in particular.
