Wednesday, August 28 marks the opening of “Choir Season” at First Unitarian and ALL are encouraged to join in. You may think that it is important for there to be some people sitting in the congregation— but is it? really?! We will have ALL of you singing or dancing or clapping or humming along, one way or another, so consider being part of the behind the scenes action.
This year we are trying something new. We’ll be focusing on making choir (or whatever we decide to call it) accessible to all. We want it to be a fun experience for all ages and abilities. So we will focus on simpler melodies with just one or two optional harmony parts. Songs that we can easily master and then get the whole congregation to join in.
** We also welcome instrumental musicians, so if you play an instrument please let us know. **
We meet from 5:30-7pm on Wednesdays in the Sanctuary. The choir will sing a prepared song or two during Sunday service once or twice a month. Although we always miss folks when they are away, participation in every Choir Sunday is not a requirement.
Always nice to know if you plan to join us so we have enough music sheets on hand. And please let us know if you need a ride or child care. Hope to see YOU. AND all of your friends!
