Service this week will be in the Taizé-style, a contemplative worship experience originally developed by a group of Christians in Taizé, France. Taizé consists of several cycles of prayer, singing, and silent meditation. In honor of Earth Day, the cycles focus on spiritual practices to help us confront and transform the climate crisis here on our island home. Come be a prayer with us!
Monthly Theme: Pluralism
From January to June, we will explore the newly articulated values in Article II of our Unitarian Universalist Association Bylaws. Article II addresses who we say we are as independent congregations worldwide working together, the promises we make community-to-community and each to all, and the limits of our promises. The six values rooted in our living theology and religious history are Interdependence, Pluralism, Justice, Transformation, Generosity, and Equity. We connect these values to the enduring center of our faith, Love.
In April, we will explore our value of Pluralism:
We celebrate that we are all sacred beings, diverse in culture, experience, and theology.
We covenant to learn from one another in our free and responsible search for truth and meaning. We embrace our differences and commonalities with Love, curiosity, and respect.
