Sunday Service: “Imagine the Future: How Sci-Fi Helps Us Create a Better Tomorrow, Today”

Date/Time
Date(s) - Jul 26, 2026
10:00 am - 11:00 am

Location
First Unitarian Church of Honolulu

Speaker: Andrew Laro

Saying ‘no’ to fascism and oppression is not enough — we must also know what we are saying ‘yes’ to. How do we imagine a liberated future when the present looks bleak? Science fiction gives us that power: to dream beyond what seems possible, to feel a better world in our bones before we build it. Drawing from multiple sci-fi stories, this service invites us to dream together — because if we can imagine it, we can create it.
