Pete Seeger, the famous American Folk Singer, used to say, “A good song reminds us of what we are fighting for.” May I add, so does a good music video. Music is unifying and uplifting. This video is positive and motivating, a Call to Action. It is meant to be used as a tool for educational purposes to inspire action. “We Can Do This, Oh Yes We Can” (last verse from the song).
The backbone of the Climate Change movement is rooted in faith-based congregations. In every UU church there is a Climate Action / Justice, Social Action, Environmental Committee, or some group addressing Climate Change, the most critical existential threat facing us today. Climate Change is real and getting very near some critical tipping points of no return.
As fellow UUs, we are asking you to PLEASE watch and listen to this “You are OUR Sunshine” music video. Then PLEASE forward it to all your members and friends. PLEASE post it on your website and your social media sites and encourage your members to do the same. Please sing it in your churches and community.
