Elections of the leaders who serve the members and congregations of our Association are at the heart of our Unitarian Universalist commitment to the democratic process. Elections are held during General Assembly (GA) in June. This year, there will be one contested election at GA, for seat #5 on the UUA’s Board of Trustees.

Candidate Terry Grim was nominated by the UUA Nominating Committee to serve a three-year term in position #5 on the Board. Candidate Larry Ladd is running by petition for the same position. Learn more about this contested election and other elections in this story from UU World.

Delegates vote in UUA elections. All certified congregations have one member delegate for every 50 members (or fraction thereof), with a minimum of two delegates. Religious professionals who are serving or affiliated with certified congregations may also serve as delegates. Learn more about elections and our democratic process.
UUA Elections
For General Assembly this year, we are creating a virtual “everywhere GA” with both online and distributed in-person options that will allow Unitarian Universalists to participate in whichever way works best for them. Learn more and register to participate in GA 2026.
