| Dive into In-Person Wave Cohorts in Louisville! |
| At this year’s General Assembly, all participants will have the opportunity to engage in LIVE, embodied, collective skill building and shared, faithful discernment on topics relevant to this Moment in Unitarian Universalism. Grounded in the Meet the Moment framework, this dynamic process will happen in intentional containers called Wave Cohorts, which will be launching on Saturday, June 20th, both online and in-person at our UUA Studio Site in Louisville. These three-hour long Wave Cohorts will each be facilitated by experienced leaders in their field, who will lead participants through a shared process of grounding and learning, collective discernment about the Moment we are in, and values-based prioritization of what we can do together in this Moment.
Last week, we shared the complete list of topics for all eleven Wave Cohorts happening at General Assembly. This week, we are diving into more detail about our two in-person Wave Cohorts, which are specific to and exclusively offered for GA participants at our UUA Studio Site in Louisville, KY. If one of these Wave Cohorts is calling to you, be sure to join us in Louisville to be part of these dynamic conversations!
Next week, we will feature more exciting details about the nine online-only Wave Cohorts, which will be running concurrently and are open to all GA participants who are attending GA from any location.
For now, check out these two exciting Wave Cohort choices in Louisville! |
| Dreaming Into Possibilities: Innovation in Unitarian Universalism
Facilitated by Rev. Aisha Ansano and Rev. JeKaren Bell, UUA co-directors of New UU Communities
In-person at the UUA Studio Site in Louisville, KY, open to all Studio Site participants
As the world continues to shift and change, people are yearning for community, care, and connection. Unitarian Universalism is well-equipped to meet those needs, both within and outside of congregations. There have always been many ways to be Unitarian Universalist, and we invite you to dream into the possibilities of new forms and manifestations of our faith. Together, we will explore past and present innovations in Unitarian Universalism, and dream collectively about what might be possible now. |
| Ministry to Meet the Moment
Facilitated by Rev. Ashley Horan, UUA Vice President for Programs and Ministries, Carey McDonald, UUA Executive Vice President, Rev. Kierstin Homblette Allen, Meet the Moment Program Manager, and Rev. Nancy McDonald-Ladd, UUA Vice President for Communications and Development
In-person at the UUA Studio Site in Louisville, KY, open to all Studio Site participants
This Wave Cohort will build a container within which to tangibly explore what nimble, skilled, grounded ministry looks like within the current global, religious, and political landscape. Led by senior UUA Leadership who are deeply engaged with supporting and leading strategic, values-rooted responses to these times, this Wave will engage participants in developing shared understanding of the various ministry contexts we are navigating, the most urgent needs and opportunities for religious professionals and lay leadership in these times, and how our values compel us to show up with both impact and integrity in this moment. |

Join Rev. Bruce Beisner and Rev. Liz Weber for “From Louisville to You, Wherever You Are,” a worship experience connecting participants across homes, congregations, community gatherings, satellite sites, and the UUA Studio Site at the Galt House in Louisville.
As we continue to Meet the Moment together, this service will invite us to reflect on where we have been, where we are now, and where we are being called next. Through stories rooted in Louisville and shared across our wider community, we’ll begin the day connected in faith and possibility.
Saturday Morning Worship begins Saturday, June 20 at 8:30 a.m. ET. Can’t join live that early in your time zone? The service will remain available on demand throughout the day, so participants everywhere can take part when the time is right for them.
Rev. Bruce Beisner serves All Peoples Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Louisville, Kentucky. Originally from Appalachia, Bruce previously served a congregation in Houston, Texas, and has long been active in LGBTQ+ community leadership. Before ministry, he managed a bakery for nearly two decades. He now lives in Louisville with his husband, Jim, and their two basset hounds.
Rev. Liz Weber serves First Unitarian Church of Louisville and joined the congregation last year. In addition to parish ministry, she works with the UUA’s conflict transformation team as a HOPE for Us coach. Before ministry, Liz worked as an American Sign Language interpreter and also has experience in hospital chaplaincy and pastoral care. |

| Want to experience General Assembly together with others in your area? Our newly updated Community Gatherings webpage makes it easier to find local opportunities to connect, worship, and participate in GA alongside fellow Unitarian Universalists.
Community gatherings are locally organized spaces where registered GA participants can come together to watch worship services, join programming, reflect in community, and share the experience of GA in person while participating in the same inspiring content as attendees across the continent.
Hosting a gathering of your own? Congregations, covenant groups, and other UU communities are invited to participate. If you’re planning a gathering, please let us know so we can help spread the word on the website and in the GA app. |
| Following several days of business sessions, learning, and opportunities to connect across the General Assembly, we come back together June 19 through Sunday, June 21 for a shared closing weekend shaped by worship, reflection, and connection.
From Friday’s re-gathering worship with Rev. Katie Romano Griffin and Rev. Rachel Lonberg, to Saturday’s Meet the Moment programming and the Ware Lecture from Bishop Marianne Budde, each piece builds on the last.
You’ll also hear from voices across Unitarian Universalism and beyond, including Rev. Verdis Robinson, Rev. Bruce Beisner, Rev. Liz Weber, Rev. Liz Walker in conversation with Rev. Beth Johnson, and poet Crystal Simone Smith.
We close on Sunday in worship with Rev. Jen Youngsun Ryu, grounding us for what comes next.
Come as you are. Leave connected, renewed, and ready for the work ahead. |
