If you had the amazing congregational justice team of your dreams, what could you accomplish? Perhaps more importantly, how would that change you? These days, it can feel like nothing we are doing is enough to contend with realities of climate change and the consolidation of white Christian nationalist fascist power. But at Side with Love, we believe that when we root our organizing in faith, flourishing, joy, and possibility, we can unlock the power we need to not just survive, but build the thriving movements of collective liberation, rooted in community care and sacred interdependence. Author and political organiser Raymond Williams said, “To be truly radical is to make hope possible rather than despair convincing.” How can we make hope possible? This is the power of doing justice work as Unitarian Universalists organizing together in love. This is a power we need if we are to not just survive, but build the thriving movements of collective liberation, rooted in community care and sacred interdependence. Tending SOIL:Skills, Organizing, Interdependence, Liberation |
| Tending SOIL is Side with Love’s leadership program to support congregational justice teams to build their capacity to faithfully and strategically engage in the transformation of the world through liberating Love.Through SOIL, congregational or regional teams of 3-5 participants will strengthen their Skills, develop their Organizing Plan, practice Interdependence within and beyond their congregation, and deepen their understanding of Collective Liberation (ie, SOIL!)
