Sunday Service: “An Angel in Rhinestones” – A Dolly Parton themed service for LGBTQ+ Pride Sunday

Date/Time
Date(s) - Oct 11, 2026
10:00 am - 11:00 am

Location
First Unitarian Church of Honolulu

Speaker: Pastor Keola Whittaker

Dolly Parton called her look a country girl’s idea of glamour, and she was never once ashamed of the fact that she made it herself. On the Sunday before Pride week and on National Coming Out Day, we gather to celebrate the woman we lost in August and the truth she spent eighty years telling: that what you build of yourself is not a betrayal of what you are. It is what you are. Wear something bright. There will be glitter. There will be Dolly. Bring somebody who needs to hear it.
