Wednesday, April 22, 2026 5 PT • 6 MT • 7 CT • 8 ET Click here if you want help translating to your time zone.

Join Unitarian Universalist Ministry for Earth in the spirit of reverence and renewal as we honor that “Sentience Surrounds Us” this Earth Day. This year our featured speakers include members of our UU Ministry for Earth community as well as special guests from UU Animal Ministry. Our 2026 Earth Day Worship Service happens on Wednesday, April 22nd at 5 pm PT/ 6 pm MT/ 7 pm CT/ 8 pm ET on Zoom.

Human beings often believe that our emotions and intelligence uniquely set us apart from nature, yet this could not be further from the truth. In fact, it is because we are part of nature that we sense, feel, and think. The natural world is alive, vibrant, and buzzing with multiple intelligences – some of them different or beyond our human capabilities. Science confirms what ancient wisdom already knew: Earth is full of creatures who are both sentient (capable of deep feeling) and sapient (capable of complex thinking). Come join UU Ministry for Earth for an Earth Day worship ritual that celebrates the sentience (and sapience) that surrounds us, in loving memory of Dr. Jane Goodall.

Reserve Your Movement Chaplaincy Session TodayMovement_Chaplaincy_Appointments.png

My name is Chelsea McCoy and I am serving as UUMFE’s movement chaplain intern for the next few months! Movement chaplaincy is an opportunity for me to provide spiritual support, presence, and guidance pertaining to anything social justice oriented. Experiencing climate anxiety? I can support with that. Worrying about the state of the world adding weight to your shoulders? I can support with that. Want to increase your understanding and awareness of different social justice issues? I can support with that too!

We’re Looking for a New Board TreasurerSeeking_Board_Treasurer.png

Do you have finance experience and a passion for climate justice?

UUMFE is looking for a Treasurer. This is a Board-level volunteer role requiring about 10 hours per month. Ideally this person will have finance experience in a small business or non-profit and can explain financial opportunities and issues to the Board and the ED in a clear manner, as well as work with our part-time paid bookkeeper. Please email current Treasurer at treasurer@uumfe.org.

Drop-In Climate Grief Support GroupClimateGriefSupportGroup_Slider.png

Fridays 1-2 PM ET / 10-11 AM PT Click here if you want help translating to your time zone.

UUMFE’s Acting Director, Rev. Lauren Levwood, and our team of UUMFE Movement Chaplains, are working alongside UUMFE Movement Chaplain Intern Chelsea to co-facilitate a weekly drop-in Climate Grief Support Group on Fridays from 1-2pm ET/10-11am PT over Zoom.

If you are concerned about the state of our world, worry about how current events are intersecting with climate disturbance, are a parent or grandparent concerned about the coming generations, or a young adult with anxiety about the future of our living world, this Climate Grief Support Group will provide a space for you to process your experiences with others in a ritualized, trauma-informed, and mindful way. We recommend you bring a stone or similar grounding object for our time together.

We will meet on Fridays from 1-2pm ET/10-11am PT over Zoom.

Events and announcements from UU climate justice partners

This section includes contributions from organizations who are partners with UUMFE in the intersectional work of climate justice in Unitarian Universalism or interfaith work, such as the UU Climate Justice Coalition.

UU the Vote

2026 Campaign Launch

Democracy is more than elections. It is created through the ways we show up for one another, build trust, and live our values in public life. As we approach the 2026 elections, Unitarian Universalists are gathering to ignite solidarity, deepen community, and reimagine what democracy can become when we center love and act together. UU the Vote launched their latest campaign in March, and they’re looking for more and more UUs to ensure this movement grows.

Please watch this launch video from Nicole Presley to learn more.

North Parish Unitarian Universalist members

Over thirty members of North Parish Unitarian Universalist, North Andover, MA participated in making this climate change music video, “You are OUR Sunshine”. The creators ask congregations to consider using the song and/or video in a climate-related service around Earth Day.

Click here to watch the video on Youtube.

This project is totally nonprofit. Anyone working or educating on climate change has full permission to use the song and our music video in any way you see fit. Its use is covered by the Fair Use Doctrine. An MP3 of just the song “You are OUR Sunshine” plus lyrics and chords available upon request. Let us know what you think of our video by visiting patscanlonmusic.com or directly contacting Pat at patscanlonmusic@gmail.com.

Green Faith

In less than a month, governments from around the world will gather in Colombia for the first global conference focused on phasing out fossil fuels. This is a critical moment to demand a just transition. Sign the global multi-faith letter calling for a Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty.
