Widening the Circle of Concern: Report of the UUA Commission on Institutional Change
analyzes structural and systemic racism and white supremacy culture within Unitarian Universalism and makes recommendations to advance long-term change.
Starting Sunday, Feb 7 2021, the First Unitarian Church of Honolulu Board launched an initiative to inform the congregation on the report. Each Sunday, a member of the Board or 8th Principle Task Force will provide a video summary of one of the chapters of the book, and there will be a discussion session after the church service. You can access the resources to read or listen to a chapter each week and join in the discussions each Sunday* by clicking on this link. A.D.O.R.E. has generously purchased some copies of the book to make available to our members, so if you are interested, please email board@unitariansofhi.org and we’ll see if we can accommodate your request. We look forward to your participation.

Is Widening being discussed tomorrow?( Mar 7)
What chapter ? Is that posted anywhere? I could not find it.
Aloha e David, yes, the conversation is happening on Sunday March 7. The conversations will be occurring each Sunday except ADORE Sundays and are marked on the church calendar. The post above contains a link to the “Widening the Circle of Concern” resources page under the “Learning” section of the website, but I can see that it is not obvious. I will make that clearer.
