Some are already excited and others are still undecided about registering for the 2021 Intergenerational Seminar, so in this final week of before registration closes March 18 we’ll be highlighting a different Seminar program each day. Today, with 6 days to go, we’re spotlighting a community engagement workshop, to be held Sunday, April 11, at 1:00pm Eastern. View the full Seminar schedule.

Workshop: “From Passion to Action: Effective Community Engagement”

How can congregations help change our food systems so that they can be both sustainable and equitable? During this workshop, participants will hear from Dr. Karambu Ringera, founder of International Peace Initiatives and Tiriji Foundation, who will share stories about her phenomenal work in Kenya around food sovereignty and land care as a pathway to healing and regeneration. Join this workshop to learn how to engage your congregation or community from passion to action in the context of climate justice and food equity.

This and other Seminar programs will connect participants to the climate & food justice movement, equipping them with skills to take action throughout the year as individuals and communities. There will be abundant opportunities for intergenerational dialogue during the Seminar, as well as dedicated time for youth and young adult participants and BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, & people of color) participants to connect with one another. This year’s Intergenerational Spring Seminar, “All In for Climate Justice: Food Equity and Sustainability,” is in partnership with UU Ministry for Earth, as part of Spring for Change: A Season of Sacred Activism focused on the theme “Pathways to Healing and Regeneration.” Registration is open through March 18 and features flexible rates for equity and accessibility. Please join us!

This work is made possible by the generosity of member congregations and individual donors.
