ANSWER THE CALL

giving%20Tuesday%20banners%20(1).png

What is the value of UUMFE’s work in the climate justice movement? We can answer this question through the lens of Deepa Iyer’s Social Change Ecosystem Framework. UUMFE’s climate justice leaders embody diverse roles as:

  • Weavers who facilitate coalitions and co-create within ecosystems;

  • Builders who organize programs, projects, and coalitions toward a shared vision; and

  • Healers who nurture the ecosystem, offering tools and practices for transformation.

We invite you to answer our call to be an active partner with UUMFE in this essential work. You can give here!

Our Annual Winter Solstice Worship

solstice%20FB%20COVER%20(2).png

December 19, 2024

8-9pm ET | 7-8pm CT| 6-7pm MT| 5-6pm PT

The longest night of the year is a time we drop into stillness, honor the dark, release the pain and struggle of life. We also embrace the light of strength and courage. This year, UU Ministry for Earth (UUMFE) partners with the UU Service Committee (UUSC) and UU College of Social Justice (UUCSJ) to bring you worship, artistic expression, and stories from partners in Kiribati where climate justice is culture justice and disability justice.

Our guest speaker is Rev. Manish Mishra-Marzetti, UUSC Board of Trustees Co-Chair and Senior Minister of the First Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Ann Arbor, Michigan.

During the service, we will collect an offering which will be shared between UU Ministry for Earth and UUSC’s partner Te Toa Matoa in Kiribati.

You can donate then (or now) by noting “Winter Solstice” in the memo line.

Register for the worship service.

So that you can engage in artistic expression, bring with you:

  • Paper (blank, any size)
  • Pencils and erasers
  • Markers, colored pencils, or crayons
  • Optional: Gel pens, paint, or other art materials for added detail

Thanks to the Side With Love’s Climate Justice Campaign for financial support of this event.

Did you know that UU Ministry for Earth is the only UU organization dedicated solely to climate?  Our work has been ongoing since 1989 – that’s 35 years! We are funded by individuals, congregations, and a grant or two each year. We  would be grateful for your congregation’s donation. Thank you for your support.
