Dear UU Ministry for Earth Community –

I write to let you know that I will be leaving my role at UU Ministry for Earth at the end of February, 2025. Serving in this ministry has been deeply fulfilling and aligned with my calling. One of the greatest joys of the journey has been interacting with you and deepening our work for climate justice grounded in Unitarian Universalism.

As I ease into retirement over the next few years, I plan to consult on a project-by-project basis. While I look forward to staying connected with UUMFE in a limited capacity, I am ready to pass the torch to new leadership. This transition is happening now due to personal and family reasons. I am well, but I need to prioritize these matters at this time.

My departure has been in the works since early August, 2024 so the UUMFE Board has had time to plan. They are actively engaged in a strategic planning process to refine the organization’s mission and funding strategy. They will be filling my role with an Executive Director who will begin on February 10, 2025. The job description is here so that you can forward it to anyone who might be interested and qualified.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email me: searchteam@uumfe.org.  Our Board Chair, Rev. Lauren Levwood, is also happy to answer any questions, especially about the new hire: laurenlevwood@uumfe.org.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Rev. Kelly Dignan
