2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Location
First Unitarian Church of Honolulu

Every year the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) invites a distinguished guest to address the annual General Assembly as the Ware Lecturer. Share in the excitement and profound General Assembly experience by watching this year’s Ware Lecture in our church sanctuary via live stream.  Sponsored by A.D.O.R.E., A Dialogue on Race and Ethnicity, come early for the 2pm General Assembly SING followed by the Ware Lecture from 2:30-3:30pm.  Stay to share your thoughts.  Feel free to bring snacks and beverages.

This year’s Ware Lecturer is Brittany Packnett, a leader at the intersection of culture and justice.

Cited by President Barack Obama as a leader whose “voice is going to be making a difference for years to come,” Brittany is an unapologetic educator, organizer, writer, and speaker.  Known as @MsPackyetti on social media, Brittany has become a sought-after voice in the work of social change and empowerment.

Learn more about Ms. Packnett at https://www.uua.org/ga/program/highlights/ware-lecture

Ultimately, Brittany is a proud Black woman who believes that freedom is within our grasp—as long as we unleash love, and build our power, because “power at its best is love implementing the demands of justice.” (MLK)
