Introducing our Volunteer Accessibility and Inclusion Team Leads
The Accessibility and Inclusion Team assists registered attendees of General Assembly with questions or concerns around accessibility, disability, equity, and social
justice that are inherent in producing large-scale annual conferences. Team members will work in conjunction with volunteers providing Accessibility Services to GA participants. The 2022 co-leads for this team are Patty Cameron and Mary Beth Spencer.
Patty Cameron (she/her) has coordinated Accessibility Services at GA for more than 15 years. Patty keeps a robust virtual presence, supporting accessibility services as we expand to serve multiple platforms Patty is a member of the Winchester Unitarian Society.
Mary Beth Spencer (she/her or they/them) is a member of Mt. Diablo UU Church in Walnut Creek, California. She identifies as a disabled, neuroatypical, queer, polyamorous, white, woman. She is always looking for ways in which the community can change in order to meet the needs of each individual so that everyone can be included.
Thank you, Patty and Mary Beth, for your leadership!
Re-Introducing the GA Systemic Justice Team
The GA Systemic Justice Team assists registered attendees from currently and/or historically marginalized communities in creating structural change by providing access and advocacy to challenge and change oppressive structures and/or systems. Tessa Ellis is an educator in the public schools of Virginia. Tessa’s passion is empowering people and motivating them to support one another and the communities they serve.
Safety and Wellness in Portland
