URGENT: Community Transportation Need for IHS Children’s Spring Break Program - Archived

Aloha Valued IHS Church Partners,

I hope this email finds all of you in good health and spirits! I am reaching out with an urgent request on behalf of the Institute for Human Services (IHS). We are facing an unexpected transportation challenge for our Spring Break program next week (March 17-21). One of our shuttle vehicles has suddenly broken down, which threatens to disrupt critical programming for the keiki in our shelters.

While we recognize this is a broad and somewhat unusual request, we are hoping someone in our church network might be able to assist us. Specifically, we need:

  • Daily transportation between Kaaahi Shelter and Kahauiki Village
  • Morning pickup at Kaaahi Shelter at 8:30 AM
  • Drop-off at Kahauiki Village by 9:00 AM
  • Afternoon pickup at Kahauiki Village at 2:00 PM
  • Return to Kaaahi Shelter by 2:30 PM

These children have been eagerly anticipating their spring break activities, and a transportation solution would mean the world to them. Even partial assistance for some days would be immensely helpful.

  • We understand this is very short notice and completely understand and respect if this isn’t possible.
  • However, given the critical nature of maintaining stability and hope for these children, we are casting a wide net in hopes of finding a solution.
  • If you can help or know someone who might be able to, please respond directly to this email.

Mahalo in advance,
