Update from Team Hope & Save The Date - Archived

Team Hope has been meeting weekly for the past couple of months to hash out the conclusions from our Hope For Us workshop last November.  In doing so, we are finding our working together to be transformative. We are being changed in working through this process and have concluded that to effect real change at First Unitarian Church of Honolulu, we all need to be involved in this work.

Back in November, together we identified 7 areas of challenge/potential transformation:

  • (Re)building Trust
  • Relationship Repair and Conflict Transformation
  • Exploring Behavior, Covenant, and Boundaries
  • Governance and Community Decision-Making
  • Tending and Integrating our History Towards Meaning and Healing
  • Exploring our Shared Purpose
  • Deep and Joyful Connections (Beyond Cliques and Circles)
Please Save the Date, Sunday May 25, 11:30-1:30pm, when together we will gather to identify our stories in each of these areas.
  • What stories are we telling and what are we saying about who we have been and are now?
  • Who are we dreaming of becoming?  What stories will we be telling and what will we be saying about who we are when we get there?
We are enthusiastic and ambitious about the important work you’ve asked us to do and look forward to being together with you as we proceed. If you have questions feel free to speak with a member(s) of Team Hope: Laura Goemans: Chair, Mary MacKay, Crystal Neva, Carla Allison, Nan Porterfield and Jim Wood.
