Don’t miss our upcoming November 24th ADORE (A Dialog on Race and Ethnicity) meeting which will feature the documentary film “Out of State” which is about native Hawaiian prisoners shipped 3,000 miles across the ocean to a for-profit prison in the desert of Arizona.
Several community members who are involved with prison reform have been invited to attend this meeting and we are looking forward to a rich discussion on the topics of “for profit” prisons, and the need for bail reform, and the impact this has on the Native Hawaiian community.
We will be starting at 11:30 with 10- minute newcomer orientation and regular meeting running from 11:40 – 2:00 pm. Pizza will be available for $1.50 a slice and childcare is provided.
Come join us. We look forward to seeing you!
