Satellite Site Spotlight: Rochester, New York

A diverse group of congregants from First Unitarian Church of Rochester sit and stand together in a cozy meeting room, smiling and waving toward the camera during a casual gathering, with chairs arranged in a circle and musical instruments visible in the background, conveying a welcoming and community-centered atmosphere.

This year, GA 2026 will be experienced in many places at once, and one of those gathering points will be the First Unitarian Church of Rochester in New York’s Finger Lakes region.

The Rochester Satellite Site invites participants to experience GA in community, combining livestreamed GA programming with local connection, music, and opportunities to gather both in large and small groups. The goal is simple: create space to connect, sing, reflect, and pause together as we Meet the Moment alongside participants from everywhere.

The Rochester congregation is preparing a warm welcome for attendees, including coordinated meals, shared conversation, and plenty of opportunities for fellowship throughout the weekend. Visitors traveling from outside the region will also find a city rich with history and culture, from the Susan B. Anthony House and Mount Hope Cemetery to the Strong National Museum of Play and the George Eastman Museum. Parks, museums, and nearby destinations offer plenty to explore before or after GA programming.

The church itself, designed in 1964 by renowned architect Louis Kahn, offers a spacious yet intimate setting for gathering. The building includes step-free entry, elevator access, low-stimulation rooms, nearby public transit, and free parking, helping make participation welcoming and accessible for a wide range of attendees.

Bring your coffee and snacks (we’ll have some, too). Bring your conversation. Bring your friendship and fellowship. YOU BELONG HERE!

Youth and Young Adults Belong at GA

A youth speaker stands at a podium with the Unitarian Universalist Association logo, addressing an audience while several young people stand together behind them on stage during a General Assembly program.GA 2026 is a chance to connect, learn, worship, and build community across generations, and we warmly invite youth and young adults to be part of this year’s gathering. Whether attending online or joining others at a Satellite Site, GA offers opportunities to deepen relationships, explore new ideas, and help shape the future of our shared community.Additional funding has been identified to support youth (ages 14 to 18) and young adults (ages 18 to 35) participating in GA. These resources are intended to make participation more accessible and to help ensure that younger voices and leadership are fully present in our shared time together.

For online or studio site registration ($350 max):

  • Use code 175UUNEXT26 to reduce registration to $175
  • Use code 350TOGETHER26 to reduce registration to $0

If you are registering for a Satellite Site or Studio Site (GA registration plus $25 site admission):

  • Use code 200MOMENT26 to reduce the total cost by $200
  • Use code 375BUDDE26 to reduce the total cost by $375

All codes are available one per order and may be used while funding remains available.

GA is strongest when participation reflects the full breadth of our community. If cost has been a barrier, we hope these resources make it possible for you to join us.

Travel Grants

Youth and young adults traveling to UUA events can request travel grants by providing anticipated or actual costs. Any GA-registered youth and young adult can request up to $250. Please fill out this Travel Reimbursement for UUA Events form. This form will close when funds are depleted or on June 1st, whichever comes first.

Grants are distributed by Lifespan Faith Engagement and provided by contributions to the Katie Tyson Fund for Youth and Young Adult Ministry. We have limited funds available, so if you end up not attending a GA in-person gathering, please contact us at faithengagement@uua.org.

Crowd Source Funding

Do you know UUs who need to fundraise their way to GA? Please let them know that Faithify is here to help! UUAGA campaigns use “keep-it-all” funding mode - meaning that there’s no stress about reaching the goal. Youth groups, delegates, or parents - they all can use Faithify to crowdfund their registration, travel, and other costs to attend GA.
