Sunday, June 6 from 5 – 6pm Eastern, please join us for ‘We Breathe Together’: an interfaith, multicultural experience and fundraiser to support Covid-19 relief efforts for India’s most marginalized communities.
The event will raise funds for three NGOs doing amazing work on the ground in India:
DISHA: a collective of grassroots activists and community organizers in the state of Gujarat.
KISLAY: works to empower the construction and domestic workers of Delhi.
THE UMEED PROJECT has provided continuous food and Covid-19 essential relief to more than 800,000 people across 43 locations in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and National Capital Territory (NCT).
Hear from a diverse line-up of interfaith leaders, activists, musicians and artists from India and the US.
Speakers include Dr. Rajmohan Gandhi, grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, Rev. Dr. Susan Frederick Gray, President, Unitarian Universalist Association, Imam Faizul Khan, Islamic Society of Washington Area, Simran Jeet Singh, Visiting Professor, Union Theological Seminary, and the Rev. Dr. Jacqui Lewis, Senior Minister, Middle Collegiate Church
Artists include Nirmala Rajasekar, Carnatic vainika (veena player), vocalist, composer & educator, international jazz musician Fariduddin “Fred” Johnson, Carnatic musician, writer, activist T.M. Krishna, farhan mohamed, The Higher Collective, Sonny Singh, singer, songwriter, and educator-activist, Shruthi Rajasekar, Lakshmi Swaminathan and students of Natananjali School of Dance.
