September 3, 2026 Minister’s Message
Aloha!!
I am sorry. (I may not have answered your email, or you may not have gotten mine!)
Please forgive me. (I do not know how to repel hackers and phishers!)
Mahalo. (To Suzette and Sue Yamane-Carpenter for taking steps to restore our account.)
I love you. (And your forgiveness, generosity, and kindness feel like love to me.)
You probably recognize the Ho‘oponpono prayer above. I find it so calming, centering, and opening. This week I delivered a workshop at the Kapolei Onelau‘ena shelter to families on Digital Living and Learning. There is a great concern in families about the effect of digital life on youth mental health and isolation. We shared this prayer as a way to center ourselves and our children in the sometimes-fraught cellphone and screen-time conversations.
Hope to see you this Sunday for “Radical Kindness: Aloha in an Age of Scarcity.” I see what I consider radical kindness in our congregation daily, and it inspires me!
Mahalo for all you do,
Rev. Deborah
