REVISED FUCH MASK POLICY EFFECTIVE MONDAY 11/7/2022

This is to inform the Congregation members and visitors that the Board of Directors has voted, based on current US CDC prevention strategies, to revise the mask requirements for indoor gatherings effective Monday 11/7/2022.  Mask requirements for outdoor gatherings remain voluntary.

  • Mask requirements for indoor gatherings will be based on the US CDC COVID-19 Community Levels for Honolulu County.  When the CDC COVIND-19 Community Level for Honolulu County is LOW masks will be not required but are recommended.  All Congregation members are urged to stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines and should get tested if they have any symptoms.
  • People may choose to mask at any time.  People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 are required to wear a mask at all times indoor and outdoors while at the Church.

  1. I am pleased we’re moving to a flexible data-based policy. However, I am concerned that the second bullet point implies it’s OK to come to church when you’re sick: “People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 are required to wear a mask”.
Masks are no substitute for concern for others. People who are sick should stay HOME to protect the many vulnerable members of our Congregation. The UUA suggests an emphasis on our covenantal community. Mahalo https://www.uua.org/leaderlab/pandemics/strategies
