Join Faith Action again to discuss cash bail reform in Hawai’i. This time we will talk story with some legislators who are proposing bail reform bills. Come listen in, ask your questions, and find out how to get involved in the next session.

Panelists:
Kanoʻeaunaʻinoa “Naʻi” Awo (Co-moderator): I am from Waiehu, Maui. I currently reside in Mākaha on the West side of Oʻahu. I am a student at UH Mānoa, and I am majoring in Hawaiian Studies with a concentration in Mālama ʻĀina.

Senator Karl Rhoads: Karl Rhoads has served in the Hawaiʻi State Senate since 2016 representing Downtown, Chinatown and Nuʻuanu valley. From 2006 – 2016, he served in the Hawaiʻi State House of Representatives. Rhoads is currently the chair of the Judiciary Committee.

Representative Sonny Ganaden: Rep. Ganaden has been a lawyer, college instructor, and more. He was an attorney at the Domestic Violence Action Center, District Court, and handled civil litigation cases. He taught at UH Mānoa and was educated at UH Mānoa and UCLA.

Representative Scot Matayoshi: Rep. Scot Z. Matayoshi represents the 49th House District. He currently serves as Vice-Chair of Judiciary & Hawaiian Affairs and is a member of the Agriculture and Energy & Environmental Protection committees.
