Our UU Little Library - Archived

Have you noticed the bookshelf next to the entry to the kitchen? Have you wondered what it’s all about? Why are there old fashioned library checkout cards on the book shelf? Do I have to sign out a book if I borrow it? Where do these books come from?
Well, here are all the answers.
This is not a borrowing library. If you see a book that interests you, you can just take it. You may return it once you have read it, but it’s not mandatory. The cards are there for you to write about books that you donate to the library. You may write your impressions of the book, what you got out of it – a very mini book report for the next person who picks it up. You may sign it – or not. But again, not required if you just want to donate a book.
However I can tell you that if you write a note, it is really special for the next person. I discovered it when I took a book and found this wonderful reflection from the donor on what the book meant to her.
We hope you’ll enjoy our little UU library.
