Happy Fall! The weather is changing slowly and as we enter the season of cold and snow, we also enter a season of richness. The winter is a time to refresh our deep interior lives, and find sacred rest and holy gatherings that nourish us. In that vein, we invite you to celebrate Winter Solstice with us this December 20th! Our theme this year is “Light for All”.
UUMFE’s Third Annual Solstice Celebration
Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 4 pm PT/ 5 pm MT/ 6 pm CT/ 7 pm ET
The Winter Solstice occurs when Earth’s axis tilts away from the sun, making it the shortest day and longest night of the year for those living in the Northern Hemisphere.
Let’s celebrate sacred light! UU Ministry for Earth is excited to invite you and your communities to our third annual Solstice celebration. Join us the evening BEFORE the Winter Solstice for music, reflection, meditation, and spiritual grounding.
On this longest night, we will be featuring the work of the Energy Democracy Project and sharing a portion of our offering with them. Let’s work for light for all on the longest night of the year. Our service is part of the larger arc of Clean Energy as a Human Right being led by Side with Love.
You can sponsor this event! As a sponsor, you will be recognized and named in the event order of service, in our newsletter, and during the night service. Your gifts will help sustain worship, small groups, and curriculum for all ages, spiritual support for activists and advocates, pastoral care for climate grief, and opportunities to gather in community online. Together, we can ensure a strong Unitarian Universalist spiritual grounding, compassionate chaplaincy and advocacy for change in the face of the climate crisis.
Action Reflection Circle

If you are engaged in climate justice, join with other UUs on a regular basis to share stories about your actions and strategies, restore your resilience, deepen your solidarity skills, and tap into our UU faith tradition as a source of strength. 4th Tuesdays, Monthly.

UUYACJ has a new offering. We’ll be holding a community space for organizers. Our first gathering will be September 14th!
As relationships are vital to build networks of care and a world of liberation, we will be creating and deepening connections with other UU young adult organizers. The space will include time for socializing, sharing our experiences in organizing, learning from our comrades, and imagining what a UU political analysis looks like. Anyone who is doing justice work (environmental or otherwise) is welcome here.
From our Partner, Side with Love: Hubs of Climate Resilience
