Dear friends,
Happy Fall! The weather is changing slowly and as we enter the season of cold and snow, we also enter a season of richness. The winter is a time to refresh our deep interior lives, and find sacred rest and holy gatherings that nourish us. In that vein, we invite you to celebrate Winter Solstice with us this December 20th! Our theme this year is “Light for All”. UUMFE’s Third Annual Solstice Celebration ![]() Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 4 pm PT/ 5 pm MT/ 6 pm CT/ 7 pm ETThe Winter Solstice occurs when Earth’s axis tilts away from the sun, making it the shortest day and longest night of the year for those living in the Northern Hemisphere. Let’s celebrate sacred light! UU Ministry for Earth is excited to invite you and your communities to our third annual Solstice celebration.  Join us the evening BEFORE the Winter Solstice for music, reflection, meditation, and spiritual grounding. On this longest night, we will be featuring the work of the Energy Democracy Project and sharing a portion of our offering with them. Let’s work for light for all on the longest night of the year. Our service is part of the larger arc of Clean Energy as a Human Right being led by Side with Love.
You can sponsor this event! As a sponsor, you will be recognized and named in the event order of service, in our newsletter, and during the night service. Your gifts will help sustain worship, small groups, and curriculum for all ages, spiritual support for activists and advocates, pastoral care for climate grief, and opportunities to gather in community online. Together, we can ensure a strong Unitarian Universalist spiritual grounding, compassionate chaplaincy and advocacy for change in the face of the climate crisis.
