Noe Baladad, 26, is a 2019 graduate from UH Manoa, with a Bachelor’s degree in Music (Piano Performance) and a Minor in Business. She is one of the last students of legendary pedagogue Ellen Masaki, and also has studied with Dr. Thomas Yee and Chiyo Flynn. A pianist of 22 years, Noe’s achievements include top awards in many local, national, and international competitions. As a performer, Noe made her orchestral debut at 13 years old and has played with the Hawaii Festival Orchestra, Hawaii Youth Symphony, and the Kamuela Philharmonic Orchestra. She has performed at Carnegie Hall twice, her first solo debut at the age of 16.
Noe has been a devoted piano teacher at the Masaki School of Music for the last 10 years and has taught over 150 students privately. Her students have placed in international competitions and have performed at venues around the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York, Walt Disney Concert Hall in LA, and Osaka, Japan. She currently maintains a private studio of over 50 students. Her immediate goal is to continue her late piano teacher Ellen Masaki’s legacy and passion for music education. She is also a full time student working toward applying to UH Manoa’s Graduate Entry Program in Nursing in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program track.
She leaves quickly after the service to teach a class – but be sure to say hello when you see her and thank her for adding her wonderful talents to our Sunday service.
