Keiki friendly April 24th ADORE Zoom meeting – NOTE NEW STARTING TIME IS AT 12:30 PM - Archived

Aloha All!

You won’t want to miss our exciting April ADORE meeting on Zoom!  This is a meeting you will want to share with your keiki!

We are so pleased that  Dr. Sonja Cherry-Paul will be doing a presentation for us from her chapter-book edition of “Stamped (For Kids) : Racism, Anti Racism, and You”, the number-one New York Times best seller by luminaries Ibram X. Kendi and Jason Reynolds which is an essential introduction to the history of racism and antiracism in America.  Adapted from the groundbreaking best seller Stamped: Racism, Anti Racism, and You, this book takes listeners on a journey from present to past and back again.

Dr. Cherry-Paul says that whenever children are part of the audience, she considers them as her audience, even when parents and caregivers are present as well. She will  provide an interactive, virtual 45-minute author visit about her work as an educator and writing Stamped (For Kids).

Reading Stamped (For Kids) is not a prerequisite. The overall goal of this presentation is to help students learn about the history of race and racism in the United States and what it means to be anti racist. This event will include a 15-minute Q & A for students for a total of 60-minutes.

Both you and your children are invited to join us for this informative and important presentation.

Bethany, Jill and I look forward to seeing you!

Allison
