Social Justice Council will stream: “Suppressed: the Fight to Vote” about Stacey Abrams  and provide information about our campaign to write 1000 postcards using the organization  Reclaim Our Vote to counter voter suppression.

Curious about what postcard writing entails?

This particular campaign includes writing 4 sentences provided, affixing a sticker asking people to pledge to vote on a website, and writing their address on the opposite side. We will supply the postcards, stamps, and addresses of people to write to.  If we have a second campaign, we may ask you to donate stamps to the cause.

Data show that once people pledge to vote, they have 60-80% greater chance of voting (and after pledging, they are sent reminders and information like locations and dates). You will also ask them to share the message with 5 people (if someone is urged by a friend to vote, they also have a much greater chance of voting, so the postcard can have ripple effects).
