Just Acts: An Invitation to Faithful Strategic Anti-Racist Justice Action

Just Acts: An Invitation to Faithful Strategic Anti-Racist Justice Action
Beloved First Unitarian Church of Honolulu,

We are now in a new era for justice organizing where opportunities we haven’t seen in quite some time have opened up. These moments don’t come often and we have to grab them when we can, not frantically, but strategically and faithfully. Please join us as we ready ourselves for this new day.

Beloved Conversations and UU the Vote are teaming up to offer spiritually grounded anti-racist justice organizing training. We’ll also take action together during the first 100 Days of this new administration and beyond. Too often our UU anti-racist work and our justice organizing get siloed or characterized as internal and external. This program will bridge that divide and build a community of anti-racist justice leaders, organizers, activists, and volunteers. Want to know more? Nicole Pressley, our national organizer for UU the Vote and now new Field and Programs Director for our Organizing Strategy Team (!), is offering a one hour information session on Thursday, Feb. 11th at 7:30 pm ET/4:30 pm PT. Reserve your spot (or to get the recording) here.
Nurture your spirit and gather your community for our annual Side with Love Sunday Worship Service on February 14th. Side with Love Sunday lifts up the themes from the Commission on Institutional Change report “Widening the Circle of Concern”: Living our values, Hospitality & inclusion, Educating for Liberation, and Restoration and Reparations. What if to “side with love” meant making bold, faith-full choices? This worship service brings together worship leaders and musicians from across the country to offer hopeful, moving, challenging reminders about what we, as Unitarian Universalists, are called to do, and BE, in the world. To download the worship service and discussion guide, see UUA Worship Web Side with Love Sunday.
