At General Assembly (GA) this June, Unitarian Universalists will come together to worship, reconnect, and make important decisions that will guide the future of this faith tradition. Of special significance this year is the election of the next UUA Moderator, an individual or team that will serve as the Chief Governance Officer for the next six years. The Moderator chairs the UUA Board of Trustees, facilitates the plenary (business) sessions at GA, interacts with congregations across our Association, and consults with the President in developing a common vision for the Association.
In the fall of 2024, the Moderator Search Committee presented the following candidates to the Board of Trustees and after some review, the Board unanimously voted to nominate these candidates: |
- Rev. Kimberly Quinn Johnson (she/her) and Bill Young (he/him) as a Co-Moderator Candidate Team
- Natasha Walker (she/her) as an Individual Moderator Candidate
|
After the petition period closed in February 2025 with no additional candidates, these individuals remain the only candidates for the office of UUA Moderator. In February, UU World reported on the Moderator election process and made candidate statements available for public review. |
