ABOUT THE EXHIBIT:

Artist Esperance Rakotonirina was born in Madagascar and has lived in Hawai’i since 2010. He says he was “quickly taken by the natural beauty of the islands which resemble the landscapes of Madagascar”. While adjusting to his new home and completely different culture he found great comfort in his art. For the first time he was able to experiment with acrylics, water colors, and professional grade oils.

His preferred focus is nature and wildlife painting in the realistic style. Numerous hours of studying Hawai’i flora allows him to paint detailed depictions of local palm, fern, and flower species.

His paintings will be on display through September 6th.

  1. Why are there 3 obsolete 2017 art announcements on this page with Esperances
Announcement for his coming 2018 exhibit?

    1. Hi David,

I’m assuming you’re referring to the links at the bottom of the page beneath the social media icons. In my case it included links to two previous shows and one Chalice Circle post. These are provided by WordPress as a sort of “you might also be interested in this” feature, and we don’t have control over this. However I will notify the webmaster to see if he can change that. ~ Thanks, Suzette

  2. Thank you Suzette, I appreciate your explanation. It would make some sense if the 3 Links were relevant and consistent. However, to this viewer, they seem to be outdated, random, inconsistent, arbitrary, distracting, extraneous and intrusive. These 3 “extras” do not consistently serve the Gallery. I hope they can be removed. Aloha.
