Hawaii’s share of federal funding for programs, including the following, are determined by Hawaii’s Census count:

  • Medicare
  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance (SNAP)
  • Medicaid
  • Emergency Services such as fire and ambulance
  • School lunches
  • School educational services and programs

In addition, the Census determines the number of representatives Hawaii can send to Congress.

As of Sept. 1, only 61.8% of Hawaii’s households have self-responded. We must get closer to 100%!
