Social Art as the New Cathedral

~  What Are We Constructing in the Spaces Between Us?  ~

For centuries humans have traveled to and gathered in places of significance, places where they experienced power, the divine, the creator, peace, transformation, enlightenment.  Our gathering will explore finding profound experiences in being together, through our relationships with one another.

Our initial gathering will be Monday, April 15, 2024 from 1:00-3:00pm at First Unitarian Church of Honolulu.  Attendance at this gathering is an essential part of the process.  Subsequent meetings will be held weekly at the same time for a total of 8 weeks.  The gatherings will be facilitated by the team of Beth Beyers, Peg Neva, and Laurel Zeri.

The Social Arts

The primary art form we will practice is the art of conversation. Additional social arts may include social painting, clay sculpture, weaving, movement, singing, poetry, and/or playback theatre.  The art form is the vehicle for building intimacy rather than a craft to be perfected.
