First Unitarian Church of Honolulu

The Our Whole Lives program invites families of 7th, 8th and 9th Graders to meet to learn more about OWL, to share information, questions, concerns, and wild enthusiasm.  People interested in being trained as facilitators for OWL programs are also invited to attend.

Our Whole Lives is a curriculum developed but the Unitarian Universalist Association and the United Church of Christ that helps participants make informed and responsible decisions about their relationships, health and behavior in the context of their own faith. It equips participants with accurate, age-appropriate information in six subject areas: human development, relationships, personal skills, sexual behavior, sexual health, and society and culture. It provides not only facts about anatomy and human development, but helps participants to clarify their values, build interpersonal skills and understand the social, emotional and spiritual aspects of sexuality.

Youth and Parents follow the same curriculum, in different locations.  During this meeting and during all OWL classes, child care is provided for younger siblings, so that parents may attend.

Please RSVP to Nan Kleiber [nankleiberrr@gmail.com] so that we may arrange child care and materials appropriately.  [Nan will be off island, Sept 22 – Oct 18].
