Celebrating International Women’s Day
International Women’s Day is a global holiday celebrated annually on March 8. March is also Women’s History Month. We hope you’ll make time to reflect on the progress we’ve made, while knowing there is so much more work still left to do. Let us embrace equity and create greater opportunities for all people that identify as women. In honor of International Women’s Day, we share this post on Unitarian Universalist women who have shaped history.
Inspiring Women in Pittsburgh History from the Heinz History Center
From Heinz History Center:
Western Pennsylvania’s rich history is full of women who broke down barriers and made a lasting impact on the region and the world. Journalist Nellie Bly, conservationist Rachel Carson, jazz legend Mary Lou Williams, and the ever-inspiring character of Rosie the Riveter are just some of the powerful names whose influence extends far beyond the Golden Triangle.

The GA Exhibit Hall
The General Assembly Exhibit Hall is a diverse marketplace of ideas and goods. From theological schools to specialty craft vendors, UUA staff groups to affiliate groups, the Exhibit Hall is always a popular focal point providing a gathering place and rest stop for GA attendees. The broad array of exhibitors ensures a little something for everyone, not to mention the delicious concession offerings located within the exhibit hall. By exhibiting at General Assembly, our exhibitors will be contributing to the learning, enrichment, and networking opportunities that GA attendees have so looked forward to, particularly as we continue to enjoy the ability to meet in person. This unique experience offers exhibitors a multi-dimensional opportunity to engage and strengthen awareness for your specific cause, product, or organization.
It’s not too late to become a GA Exhibitor! Exhibit booths are available for reservation through March 31. Make your reservation today!
Submit a Proposal for the GA Virtual Poster Fair
You are warmly invited to submit a proposal for inclusion in the 2023 GA Virtual Poster Fair. Stories, initiatives, and examples of inspiring work in Unitarian Universalism will be featured in the Virtual Poster Fair, available to GA registrants through the General Assembly App by Whova. Selections will be made based on the quality of proposals, embrace of diversity and inclusion, potential to provide attendees with concrete and usable tools, and the balance of multiple identity-based and theological perspectives.
The proposal deadline is Wednesday, March 15.
