Did you know we have a Book Group?
The UU-HNL “Page Turners” meet on Zoom the 2nd Wednesdays of each month from 4:00 – 5:30 pm. We read a wide selection of both fiction and non-fiction with the requirement that the book either be available in the library or very inexpensive used. To join our zoom discussion email James Skouge.
Selections for coming months:
DECEMBER 10, 2025 (2nd Wed of month)
“Becoming Duchess Goldblatt” by Anonymous
Part memoir and part joyful romp through the fields of imagination, Becoming Duchess Goldblatt is two stories: that of the reclusive real-life writer who created a fictional character out of loneliness and thin air, and that of the magical Duchess Goldblatt herself, a bright light in the darkness of social media. Fans around the world are drawn to Her Grace’s voice, her wit, her life-affirming love for all humanity, and the fun and friendship of the community that’s sprung up around her.
JANUARY 14, 2026 (2nd Wed of month)
“Anne of Green Gables” by L.M. Montgomery
A Canadian classic, written for all ages. Set in the late 19th century on Prince Edward Island, the novel recounts the adventures of an 11-year-old orphan girl sent by mistake to two middle-aged siblings, Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, who intended to adopt a boy to help them on their farm but are won over by her imagination and enthusiasm. “Marilla, isn’t it nice to think that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet?” (Anne)Â
