Are YOU looking to get outdoors, connect with nature, give back to your community,
develop leadership and life skills, and make new friends in a welcoming group that promotes inclusion?
If so, come join us!

Navigators USA is an inclusive, co-ed youth adventure organization for youth aged 5 to 18 and adult volunteers. Our program focuses on outdoors activities such as camping and hiking, practicing wilderness skills and safety procedures, team building, life skill development, and community service.  The goal is to get kids outdoors and open their minds to prepare them to take care of themselves, their community, and their planet.  Navigators USA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization formed in 2003.  Learn more at

The core of our program is the Navigators Moral Compass, which reads:

As a Navigator I promise to do my best

To create a world free of prejudice and ignorance,

To treat people of every race, creed, lifestyle and ability

with dignity and respect,

To strengthen my body and

Improve my mind

To reach my full potential,

To protect our planet and

Preserve our freedom.

Navigators USA recognizes three age clusters: Stargazers for ages 5-6, Juniors for ages 7-10, and Seniors for ages 11-18. There are currently 44 badges available (and counting) on topics from Archery to Water Conservation. Learn more about them in our Navigators Chapter 106 PresentationHandbook, and Journal.

Each Navigators USA group is called a chapter.  Chapter 106 meets monthly at the First Unitarian Church of Honolulu (FUCH) for skill and team building activities, monthly for outings in nature and the community, and offers additional community service opportunities.

Chapter 106 is participant-led. Scouts have a direct influence over choosing and leading the activities in which they’d like to participate, so long as those activities promote the mission of the Navigator’s Moral Compass. Chapter leaders assist scouts in developing goals and scheduling activities. Through our program, navigator scouts develop life, leadership, and team building skills, make new friends, connect with nature, give back to their community, and have chances to earn badges and other achievement awards for their dedication to upholding the Moral Compass.

Our chapter is all volunteer run. Adult leaders oversee the program, assist scouts with developing goals and staying on course, and coordinate volunteers. Volunteers are parents and community members who lend their time and talents to teach, lead activities, and present on the various skills and specialties they’ve developed over their lifetimes. Everyone has a special talent, knowledge, or skill worth sharing and passing on to the next generation.

We welcome people of all genders, races, belief systems, sexualities, lifestyles, and abilities.

If you are ready to join, please fill out our Online Registration Form and pay $30 annual dues via the FUCH Online Donation Form (select “Navigators, USA” option). You can also pay via check or cash, and we plan to offer PayPal in the future. The dues covers the cost of a T-shirt and most anticipated badges that each scout will earn. We will fundraise any additional money that we need to cover other costs. If you cannot pay, please let us know, and the chapter will help you.
Chapter 106 welcomes new Navigator scouts and always has a need for adult volunteer leaders.  You are welcome to join us at one of our monthly meetings to see if Navigators USA is right for you.  All adult leaders will be required to undergo a background check and training.
