Won’t You Be My Neighbor? Auction Items Keep Growing! - Archived

We are still accepting auction items until September 29!  Take a look at what other folks are offering and think of something that speaks to your heart and you want to share.

To donate or just look around, go online to “Won’t You Be My Neighbor” auction event: http://togetherauction.com/uuhonolulu.
Log in with your phone number and password (last four digits of phone number). Click on the Donate tab and enter the auction item.
Be sure to click on “SAVE” after updating your auction items.  Items are due by Oct. 1.  The Silent Auction starts Oct 1 and runs through Oct 22.  Reserve Oct. 24 for our zoom party and LIVE auction – more about that event in early October.

Here are some ideas from other UU congregations that have held successful auctions during this pandemic.

  • If you offered a meal in the past, you might consider packing your culinary delights into individual meals, distributing them and gathering your guests via a video conference call.
  • If you have a large backyard, you might consider hosting an outdoor socially-distanced meal or concert.
  • If you make a mean casserole/cocktail/cake, etc., share your talent via a video conference call. Send an ingredients list in advance and guide your guests through your recipe. Extra points if you host a kids’ cooking session.
  • Host an online game night/scavenger hunt/escape room/trivia game. If you have expertise in this area, please email auction@unitariansofhi.org.
  • Host an online discussion/workshop/class about a craft, topic or location that you love.
  • Food and beverage items are always a big hit.
  • UU-themed crafts or clothing are perennial favorites.
  • Outdoor repair, DIY, gardening or landscaping services are guaranteed to sell out fast.
  • Professional services (e.g., computer-related, legal, etc.) are wonderful donations.
