April’s Share the Plate

Our share the plate organization for April is Hui Mahi‘ai ‘Āina, better known to many as Auntie Blanche’s houseless community in Waimanalo.  The community was devastated by the recent flooding, up to 5 feet of water in some of the housing areas. The Social Justice Council has had a relationship with this community for several years and watched it grow but now much of that growth has been lost.  In conjunction with Hui Mahi‘ai ‘Āina being our share the plate recipient, we are further supporting them with a food drive.  Auntie Blanche has requested canned foods at this time.  There is a box on the ledge at the church entrance for your donations.
