Plan for August 27th 11:30am-1pm for A.D.O.R.E.’s Movie and Food Event – “Hidden Figures” + keiki films.

ADORE (A Dialogue On Race and Ethnicity) will hold an exciting family event on Sunday, August 27th at First Unitarian Church of Honolulu! Please join us for a space-themed Story For All Ages during the 10:00am church service. Pizza, veggies, fruits and a space-themed surprise dessert will follow the service, along with the wonderful movie “Hidden Figures” at 11:30am in the church Sanctuary. “Hidden Figures” is the true story of black female mathematicians at NASA whose calculations were crucial in realizing some of America’s greatest achievements in space. The film is rated PG and is a feel-good film which celebrates the accomplishments of black women.

For the younger children, in the Fred Harper Room, we will show the G-rated animated movie, “Fly Me to the Moon,” which is about the Apollo 11 space flight. Childcare  will be provided.

This event will be held as a fundraiser for the November 9,10,11th Jubilee antiracism workshop. Minimum donations of $5 per adult and $3 per child are requested.
