On May 26, 2019 our ADORE group will be holding its monthly meeting in the sanctuary following the service. ADORE stands for A Dialogue On Race and Ethnicity. From 11:30 – 11:40, there will be a short orientation for newcomers. The regular meeting will start promptly at 11:40 and end at 1:40 p.m. Everyone is invited to explore the topic of “Cultural competency or cultural humility” through video and discussion.
“The current state of affairs relative to social justice issues (race, gender, sexual identity and expression, religion, and socio – economic status) shows us that the need for diversity and inclusion in our society is greater than ever.
The challenge is to think about our personal biases and collectively learn to truly embrace, appreciate, and live communally with those who are different from us.
Through education and training we can engage in difficult dialogue through cultural humility to make the unconscious conscious.” Juliana Mosley, Ph.D.
Pizza will be available for $1.50. Free childcare will be available upstairs.
